Urge the TN legislature to pass HB0626 / SB0288 to allow minor party candidates ballot access and party labels on the ballots.  It is a truth-in-labeling bill for Tennessee ballots.

The 6th circuit opinion of Sept 6th, striking down Ohio’s ballot access law for new parties, will almost certainly help minor parties in Tennessee also.  The aspects of the Ohio law that were unconstitutional are shared by Tennessee’s law.

Tennessee Tax Revolt finishes a petition drive to require public referendum on all property tax increases in Davidson County.

The eminent domain bill passed by the TN Legislature still allows governments to seize property for 'industrial parks', allowing the very thing that property owners need protection from after the Kelo ruling.

A proposed bill in the Tennessee General Assembly would establish a state minimum wage law, but it would likely harm rather than help people at the bottom of the pay rate scales.

UPDATE 06/20/06 - Proposals to establish a state minimum wage have failed in the TN Legislature this year.  In exchange for the defeat of this bill, the Republicans agreed to let the Democrats spend the budget surplus.
