  News from the National LP

Ron Crickenberger, former Political Director for the national Libertarian Party, died early this morning after a fight with cancer.

Ron was a tireless activist and had been involved in the Libertarian Party for years.

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1955, he grew up with an early appreciation of individual liberty and personal responsibility. He served as a Libertarian National Committee member from 1989-1997; served on the LP of Georgia Executive Committee in 1986; as Georgia Vice Chair in 1987; as Georgia Chair in 1989; and as volunteer head of the LP's Campaign Committee from 1991-1997.

He was appointed as the LP Political Director in March 1997, where he served until July 2003. As Political Director, he recruited, trained, and supported many Libertarian candidates across the country, including Tennessee.

In 2000, Ron was named a "Rising Star" of politics by Campaigns and Elections magazine.

Ron is survived by his partner, Noelle Stettner, two children, and a newborn grandchild.

I ask that the Libertarian Party of Tennessee join me in expressing their condolences to Ron's family, and that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Pro libertate,
Ray Ledford
Chair, Libertarian Party of Tennessee
